Cross-Straits youth forum held

A cross-Straits youth forum jointly sponsored by the Communist Youth League of China and the Youth League of the Chinese Kuomintang was inaugurated in Beijing on December 15. The cross-Straits youth delegations to the forum carried out extensive and in-depth discussions on the forum’s main topic of strengthening youth exchange and co-operation to promote cross-Straits common prosperity as well as the themes of economic globalization and perspective of youth enterprising efforts, S&T exchange and co-operation and youth innovations. During the forum, the host arranged appreciation of Chinese culture quintessence and visits to the construction sites of gymnasiums and stadiums built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
　  More than 150 high-profile youth delegates from the mainland and Taiwan attended the forum. They were personages in the fields of trade and economic relations, science and technology, education and culture. Seventy-six of them came from Taiwan.
