The 9th Village Youth Cultural Festival took place between February and March. It involved
- organizing rural youth to create a number of traditional Chinese folk art new works, such as rhythmic story-telling, skits, comic dialogue, musical and theatrical pieces
- unfolding S&T training, popularization and dissemination, promoting new agricultural techniques and varieties and spreading standardized agricultural production skills and farm product operation and management knowledge
- holding service projects such as forum training, popular science publicity and free medical consultation and providing practical and effective health services to rural youth
- mobilizing young township enterprises and private entrepreneurs as well as youth center members to develop corresponding support, labor linkage and one-to-one support activities.
The program was also to push the rural youth center support plan and to send good books to the countryside, give repertoire show of good films, and give agricultural S&T knowledge training as well as all cultural and welfare activities in combination with the construction of 1100 exemplary centers and loving care bookshops
- building 100 brilliance libraries worth 20000 – 50000 yuan RMB nationwide focusing in the central and western parts of the country, especially in poverty-stricken and ethnic minority areas
- implementing the young farmer health promotion plan
- developing a program to grant newspapers to rural youth centers and mobilizing social forces to grant a copy of China Youth Daily to every such center and conduct serial cultural activities there. |
