February 2007 saw the startup of YV Elderly Serving Month in Beijing, Shanghai, Qinghai and Jiangsu provinces. The event was to organize Yvs to help community, neighborhood and rural elders in tackling practical livelihood difficulties. It was aimed to help the elders realize their wishes, do good things for them and to encourage a good social atmosphere of respecting the elders, caring for them and helping them by all means.
   So far, there have been 13 million young volunteers serving 2.8 million elders, offering them 630 million hours of voluntary services including medical care, looking after them in routine life, giving them legal aid and giving them cultural performances.
