Hubei Youth Work Coordination Committee set up

Of late, Hubei provincial government set up a youth work coordination committee, which met for the first time and set up a new mechanism under government guidance, management and coordination. 

    Hubei has 21 million youths between 14 and 35, accounting for one third of the province’s population. The committee will incorporate youth work into the scope of government functions. By formulating youth development plans, implementing youth laws and policies and making overall coordination of youth work, it will address youth development problems like study and education, physical and psychological health, rights protection, crime prevention, employment and business creation, and love and marriage, thus protecting youth legal rights and interests, compiling statistics, analysis and information release on the province’s youth subsistence and development and providing the government with advices, information and counter-measure recommendations for decision making on youth work. 

    The committee was reportedly composed of government functional departments and the office was set up at the venue of Hubei Provincial Youth Federation, with its President serving as the office director concurrently.
