The 18th Appraisal of Top Ten Chinese Youth held in Beijing
The Top Ten Chinese Youths are Zeng Manjun, Yang Wei, Li Changsong, Fei Chunliang, Wang Jie, Xu Chuanxi, Wu Qiang, Dong Yuexia, Xu Benyu and Lu Meng.
They were elected by secret ballot at the assessment committee after the organizing committee’s examination and approval and public announcement based on the 45 nominees from 30 units including provincial youth federations and the department of organization of the Military Committee’s General Political Department. They are widely representative, and are spread out among the PLA, sports, farming, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries, medicine and healthcare, education, politics and law, S&T, culture and art sectors.
The top ten are representatives of the outstanding young people that have emerged in China’s reform and opening up and the socialist modernization drive. They are persevering, aggressive and have created brilliant achievements in ordinary posts, displaying the style of contemporary Chinese youth in studying hard, good at creation and ready to make contributions. Their process of hard struggle and moving deeds will play a demonstrative and guiding role for the younger generation in China.
The assessment committee members were chosen randomly by computer out of 600-member assessment committee database. The assessment was jointly sponsored by ten organizations including the ACYF, China Youth Development Foundation and ACYF Information.
