“Youth Red Ribbon” Action is jointly initiated by the CYLC CC and the Ministry of health to encourage young people to join in the AIDS prevention. Aimed at helping young people grasp AIDS prevention knowledge and strengthen self-protection consciousness and ability, prevent AIDS from spreading and promote young people’s health.  The CYLC CC has established and enforced “AIDS Prevention and Strategic Planning”.

The youth organizations in different levels make full use of propaganda window, audio-video materials, photo exhibition, and artistic performance etc to carry out AIDS prevention and education activity for young people. They have held successively “face-to- face education with rural youth working in the city”, “going to school for the Youth Red Ribbon group”,  “youth red ribbon entering the western part of China” etc.
