Background Information of Lu Chuan:

Born in Kuitun county of Xinjiang province, China on February 8, 1971, Lu Chuan is a famous film director, screenwriter, executive producer, and a member of All-China Youth Federation.

His major works include: TV drama the Black Hole (as the screenwriter), TV film Cannot Resist (as the screenwriter), film Looking for the Gun (as the screenwriter and director), film Kekexili (as the screenwriter and director), film City of Life and Death (as the screenwriter and director), film the King's Banquet and the Path of Beauty (the showing film of China Pavilion of 2010 World Expo). Kekexili won Jury Prize in Tokyo International Film Festival and the Best Descriptive Film in the 27th Mountain Film Festival of the United States in 2004 and the Public Prize in the Pesaro Film Festival of Italy in 2005. City of Life and Death won the Best Film Prize in the Oslo Film Festival of Norway in 2009, the Golden Lotus Flower Prize in the 12th Du Meilleur Film Festival of France in 2010, and the Golden Shell Prize and Best Cinematography Award in the 57th San Sebastian International Film Festival.
